There are some really good news stories in this issue of Inside Life Changers the first of which is an
update on our discussions about funding with the Australian Government. Having first advised us that Life Education would be
'de-funded' and in response to a very public expression of support from Federal Education Minister Birmingham, we are now
close to finalising a new 5 year funding arrangement with the Department of Education.
It is very important to us that, alongside others across our community – state governments, local governments, businesses both
local and national, donors both large and small, local community groups, schools and parents – the Australian Government continues to
make an appropriate contribution to our funding. We have been able to sustain the work we do for nearly 40 years
because we don't place ourselves in a position of dependence on anyone while 'encouraging' support from everyone. We are incredibly
grateful for the amazing unsolicited public support we received to help us resolve this issue.
In other good news, read about our brand new major sponsor
iSelect, which has entered into a three year, $1.5 million partnership with us. There's also the
new range of Healthy Harold products now
available online for the first time ever! Hear from teenage X Factor Finalist
and Life Education Ambassador, Amalia Foy, who credits "Harold the Giraffe" for a healthier life in the music industry.
And read about our
online portal that's now helping teachers to continue our important lessons in the classroom.
